History

The district of Almegíjar is part of the Sierra Nevada Natural Park and is located on the southern side. It is close to river Guadalfeo and has the main characteristics of the villages of the Alpujarra region- singular architecture of the houses, adapted to the craggy land and the climate of the area, with narrow streets of a Moorish past.
